Thank you for your interest in helping to end hunger in Coastal Georgia.

Many of our programs are entirely volunteer run; without the enthusiasm of our volunteers, these programs could not exist. The volunteer time, energy, and dedication mean that thousands of families in our 21-county service area are able to live without the uncertainty and fear of being at risk for hunger. Please visit our Programs page for a more thorough description of how we serve the people of Coastal Georgia.

Here at Second Harvest, we have multiple volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups. Whether you are interested in becoming a regular volunteer or just helping out as time allows, we can work around your schedule. We do prefer to schedule our volunteers ahead of time due to space constraints. However, if you have a few open hours in your day please give us a call.

Volunteer Guidelines

Age requirements: All volunteers must be 16 years and older. Volunteers between the ages of 12-15 are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult. The adult must stay for the duration of the volunteer hours.

Attire: NO open toe shoes (i.e.: flop flops, sandals or clogs) allowed at any time. Please dress appropriately to work in a warehouse and according to the weather (inside / outside).

Physical activity level: While some of our volunteer activities require volunteers to be able to lift, we have plenty that do not. We welcome handicapped and disabled volunteers, but need to know these limitations in advance in order to schedule appropriate opportunities.
